As a multi-hyphenate artist, Sharifa utilizes all facets of her training to analyze intimacy coordination. Not only seeking a strong dramaturgical understanding, but also a full interrogation of the rehearsal structures meant to support any act of intimacy. She has a deep focus on trauma informed practices, cultivating spaces that allow artists to lead with safety, confidence and consent at the forefront. Prioritizing autonomy, and decolonizing power structures that prevent community lead rehearsal spaces. As a trans woman, she’s extremley passionate about intimacy for queer bodies & queer storytelling, seeking to degender language and practices that have alienated those communities.
